Russian media: Ukrainian diplomats have generally refused to return home after the expiration of their tenure abroad
According to the Russian news agency reported on August 4, according to the Ukrainian "Der Spiegel Weekly" reported that the country's diplomats have a very common refusal to return home after the expiration of their tenure abroad.

"Since the beginning of 2022, 40 to 60 percent of Ukrainian diplomats have not returned from their posts abroad, but the true number is likely to be higher," the paper wrote.

The article said that in the case of Ukraine's diplomatic service in the United States, nearly 20 people were supposed to return in 2022, but in fact not a single diplomat has returned. The main factors influencing their decision to do so were money problems, difficulties in finding employment at home, fear of being conscripted into the army, and fear that they would never be able to leave the country again.

"Diplomats should always be at the forefront, defending their country's interests, and even their failure to return means a lack of confidence in the country's future." This is a barometer not only for Ukrainian society, but also for foreign investors. Such a situation would not help achieve the goal that the president set out at the ambassadors' meeting: to bring the Ukrainians home. If the diplomats themselves do not want to come back, then how can they push the Ukrainians who went to the United States, Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic to go home?"

The article said that both young and senior diplomats, third secretaries and minister counsellors have decided not to return home.

"The decision by a large number of highly qualified professionals not to return to Ukraine is a disaster and a testament to the failure of the country and its foreign service," it concluded.

about 96,000 Ukrainians were granted exit permits during the conflict, and more than 11 percent decided not to return, Ukraine's state investigators said, according to the Ukrainian state news agency.
